Flights, Airports and Transfers
Flights: Because everyone may be departing from different cities, flight options and prices will vary. You're welcome to book on your own, or Jennie can book flights for you and coordinate everything end-to-end. If you'd like help, reach out to Jennie directly at ForeverTogetherTravel@gmail.com.
Best Airport: Milan Malpensa (MXP) is the most convenient airport for Relais Villa Vittoria. From MXP, the drive or train is approximately 50-60 minutes (may vary depending on traffic).
Transfers:
Private Car (Recommended): Jennie can arrange a private vehicle from MXP straight to the villa. Share your fight details and number of passengers, and she'll confirm pricing and timing.
Self-arriving?: Taxi's and ride services are available at MXP. You can also take the Malpensa Express/Train to Como and then a taxi to the villa.
When to arrive: If you plan to join all events, we recommend planning flights to arrive by Thursday October 8, 2026.
Arrival Reminders: Please Read
Most US to Italy flights are overnight and arrive the next day.
Italy is ahead of the US by several hours, so the calendar day can shift
Airline Itineraries show local times - look for notes like "arrives + 1 day"
If your itinerary looks close, feel free to share it with Jennie and she can sanity-check the dates and connections!
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a day pass to enter the Villa if I am staying offsite?
Nope! No day pass is required. We just need your name on the guest list.
Please just be sure to complete the guest RSVP form so we can include you in the guest list and any other updates that might come up!
What airport do I fly into?
You will want to fly into Milan Malpensa (MXP) airport.
It has the most nonstop options and the simplest transfer to Villa Vittoria (Laglio) — about 50-60 minutes by car.
Do I need a passport?
Yes, all international travelers are required to have a passport, including infants and children. To learn more about the application process, please visit: U.S. Department of State website.
If you already have a passport, please check the expiration date. The U.S. State Department recommends that international travelers have 6 months of validity on their passport after their return trip date.
What is the EES?
The EU’s new Entry/Exit System (EES) replaces manual passport stamping with a digital record when non-EU/Schengen visitors enter or exit. It starts on October 12, 2025 and rolls out gradually across countries through April 2026.
Who needs to complete EES checks?
All non-EU/Schengen travelers (including U.S. passport holders) when arriving in participating European countries. EES happens at the border (airports, ports, land, or rail).
What happens at the border under EES?
On your first entry after EES begins, border officers will capture your facial image and fingerprints, and scan your passport. On future trips, you’ll be verified against this record instead of getting a stamp. (Children under 12 generally don’t give fingerprints.)
Will I also need ETIAS now?
Not yet. ETIAS (the EU’s online travel authorization for visa-exempt travelers) is scheduled to start in the last quarter of 2026. It’s not a visa. When live, most travelers will apply online, pay €20, and—if approved—receive an authorization valid for up to 3 years (or until the passport expires).
What should I do before traveling?
Make sure your passport is valid (up to 6 months past the return date) for your trip.
Allow extra time at border control, especially if it’s your first EES visit.
Keep proof of return/onward travel and lodging handy in case officers ask. (Some crossings may request it.)

Travel Protection Notes
Travel happens in the real world - flights cancel, luggage wanders, and sometimes people get sick. Travel Protection helps safeguard your trip investment and provides support when plans change unexpectedly.
Common Benefits (Plans Vary):
Trip Cancellation & Interruption for covered reasons (illness, injury, certain weather events, etc.)
Trip Delay (meals/hotel/transport during long delays)
Baggage & Personal Effects (lost, delayed or damaged)
Emergency Medical & Evacuation while abroad (most US medical insurance policies do not cover international medical care)
Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) upgrades on select plans (time sensitive; not available in all states)
Important Timing Notes
Some valuable benefits (e.g. pre-existing waivers of CFAR) are only available if you purchase within 7 days of your first trip payment (deposit)
Coverage for flights can differ by plan - some only cover fights purchased with the trip package; others allow flights booked separately. If you plan to book your own airfare, let Jennie know so she can recommend a plan that fits.
